Transporter
Summary
The primary purpose of the Transporter is to provide each assigned resident with routine daily transporting services in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to assure that our facility transport services are maintained in a safe and comfortable manner.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Escorts or transports patients within facility or other medical facility.
- Determines patient name, destination, mode of travel, time, and other data, following written or oral instructions.
- Assists patient in walking to prevent accidents by falling, or transports non-ambulatory patient, using wheelchair.
- Operates mechanical, hydraulic, and manual lifts on vans and busses.
- Maintains the outside and inside of fleet vehicles, inspects vehicles, reports operational concerns, and oversees maintenance to ensure proper and safe vehicle operation.
- Ensure that all nursing care is provided in privacy.
Qualifications and Skills
Must have a valid driver’s license and pass the requirements of a driver’s license background check.
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
High School Graduate/GED preferred.
Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary care setting with residents, families, and staff members.
