Job Title: Payroll Manager


Field all technical questions related to payroll within Paylocity, trouble shoot areas of concern, make employee level changes as necessary.

  • Assist with direct deposit/tax set up issues, approve all payroll actions, ensure payroll actions are submitted correctly.
  • Handle garnishments and calls related to garnishments.

Audit payroll processes and make system changes to address the following:

  • Shift diffs are applied appropriately and consistently.
  • PTO policies are applied consistently and accurately and are calculating correctly-fix if they are not. Ensure holidays are added to payroll system each year (i.e. Easter in IL)

Provide wage verification information for requests received via phone/email.  Supervise payroll processors.  Cover and/or assign their responsibilities in their absence.  Responsible for PBJ data collection.

  • Real time, gather data monthly to prepare for PBJ quarterly report.
  • Run position reports in Paylocity, check for accuracy and fix Paylocity positions when incorrect.
  • Pull agency hours and measure agency hours by company.
  • Double-Check salary vs hourly and make sure exempt employees are accounted for.
  • Send PBJ data for final review and submission.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing and management, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.


Responsibilities:

- Oversee the entire payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all payments

- Manage a team of payroll specialists, providing guidance and support as needed

- Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations

- Maintain accurate records of all payroll transactions and ensure proper documentation is in place

- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll with other business functions

- Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll laws and regulations, and adjust policies and procedures accordingly

- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits in a timely and professional manner


Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

-Paylocity System experience a plus

- 2+ years of experience in payroll processing and management

- Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations

- Excellent communication and leadership skills

- Highly organized and detail-oriented

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and payroll software
